ENROLLMENT POLICY
1. That all students complete an application for enrollment which would indicate their intention to enroll their children in Grace School.
2. That the enrollment of children would be processed in the following order of priority:
A. Grace member children
B. Grace member children not in custody
C. Mission (Unchurched children)
D. Sister congregation\'s children
3. Grace Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, sex, and national or ethnic origin.
4. That children must be a baptized member of the congregation with the intention of Joining the church through the Rite of Confirmation, if not, they shall be considered non-members. Non-members shall pay a tuition until they have been accepted as members of Grace Lutheran Church. If non-members are enrolled in an adult instruction class, with the intention of becoming members of Grace Lutheran Church, the tuition requirement is waived upon acceptance into membership.
5. That non-member parents enrolling children comply with the following expectations:
A. That they willingly help their children with religion lessons and promote a proper attitude toward religion, as well as Christian living.
B. That they cooperate with the school and allow their children to participate in school and church events.
C. That they accept the responsibility for payment of fees involved with their children\'s enrollment.
D. That it is understood that the enrollment of their children is subject to annual review with continuation or termination of enrollment being the responsibility of the School Board. Under normal circumstances, a non-member student in good standing will be re-enrolled.
6. The intention of enrollment of children from Grace Church for the coming school year shall be finalized by June 15th. After this date, the enrollment of non-member children will be considered when the teacher-pupil ratio is less than 28 pupils in a classroom, 14 pupils per grade for grades 1 - 4, and less than 32 pupils in a classroom, 16 pupils per grade for grades 5 - 8.
7. That non-members pay tuition according to the following total rates per family: first child - $1250; second and additional children - $1050.00. (04/26/01)
8. That a child be six years of age by December 1st for first grade enrollment and has successfully completed kindergarten (kindergarten subject to wavier).
9. That any child\'s enrollment will only be accepted or continued on the basis that Grace School is capable of meeting the child\'s educational needs.
10. That placement of an enrolled child will be determined from previous school records and/or achievement tests. The previous year\'s report card must be supplied before determining grade placement. In the event that a child does not attend kindergarten, the \"Stanford Early School Achievement Test, Level SESAT 2, Form S,\" will be administered. In order for the child to enter grade one, a score of K.5 must be reached on all tests. Students new to Grace, other than first graders who begin the year, will also be tested by the \"Stanford School Achievement Test\" for their grade appropriate level. They will be tested in reading and math. In order for the child to enter grade one through three, a score of no more than one half grade Level behind must be achieved on both the reading and math tests. In order for the child to enter grade four through eight, a score of no more than one grade level behind must be achieved on both the reading and math tests.
11. That any misrepresentation of the facts will be cause for immediate dismissal.
