About Wood Adventist Christian School
Tuition Information and Fees
FINANCIAL INFORMATION 2012/2013
It is the purpose of the School Operating Committee of the Wood Adventist Christian School to keep the tuition and fees as low as is consistent with good business management. The school reserves the right to change the rates charged at any time in order to meet changing economic conditions.
Pre-registration Fee
Because of limited class sizes a non-refundable pre-registration fee of $375.00 is required of each student to secure a place in the classroom. This pre-registration fee is applied to the students Entrance and Activity Fee when the registration process is completed. If the child was pre-registered and paid in full by the pre-registration date (May 31), a $100.00 discount will be applied to the first month\'s tuition.
Entrance Fee
A non-refundable entrance fee of $300.00 is required of each student at the time of registration. It covers, in part the cost of textbook rental, school newspaper, media use, student accident insurance, and religious activities.
Activity Fees
A non-refundable activity fee of $75.00 is required of each student at the time of registration. It covers, in part the cost of student planner, school t-shirt, yearbook, class field trips, and activities.
Discounts
Families registering more than one student qualify for the following multi-children discounts:
Two children: 4% off tuition charges for the 2nd child
Three or more children: 6% off tuition charges for the 3rd child et. al.
Families choosing to pay the annual tuition costs on or before registration day, qualify for a 10% discount on their net tuition after all other discounts have been applied.
Financial Assistance
Applications for financial assistance are available. Due to the limited nature of the funds available, assistance is not guaranteed. Applications are available for the ACE scholarship programs. (This scholarship is available to anyone living in the Denver Metro Area.) The Aurora First SDA church does offer financial assistance to members of the congregation. The decisions to allocate these funds are made by outside boards and not the school staff.
Tuition Costs
The total cost of the establishment and operations of the school is not covered by the tuition charges. Members of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination and the local constituent church invest a large amount each year in order to equip and maintain the school properly. Therefore, tuition rates reflect only a portion of the actual budget costs for any school year. Without these subsidies, the actual budgeted cost per student for the 2012-2013 school year would be $7000.00. The addition of these funds allows the School Operating Committee to set the following basic tuition rates for the 2012-2013 school year.
Preschool: $5760.00 annually or $576.00 monthly for 10 months
Prekindergarten: $ 5730.00 annually or $ 573.00 monthly for 10 months
Grades K through 6th $ 4410.00 annually or $ 441.00 monthly for 10 months
Grades 7and 8 $ 4540.00 annually or $ 454.00 monthly for 10 months
Financially responsible individuals who are members of constituent local churches (currently only Aurora First S.D.A.) qualify for a discount because a large percentage of the church's budget goes directly to the school. The cost to constituent parents for the 2012-2013 school year will be as follows:
Preschool: $4730.00 annually or $473.00 monthly for 10 months
Prekindergarten: $ 4710.00 annually or $ 471.00 monthly for 10 months
Grades K through 6th $ 3420.00 annually or $ 342.00 monthly for 10 months
Grades 7and 8 $ 3520.00 annually or $ 352.00 monthly for 10 months
Tuition payments are due by the 1st of each month. Tuition payments are considered late if not received by the 16th of each month, at which time a $30.00 late fee will be assessed to your account. If your child is withdrawn, all accounts must be current in order to transfer your child's records to another school.
