AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)
has become a great concern in our day and time. Since 1981, there has been an increasing awareness of the epidemic proportion at which the AIDS virus is spreading. Being aware of information available thus far on the disease, Centre County Christian Academy felt it necessary to develop a policy considering both the person with AIDS and the rest of the student body. Individuals, adult or child, testing positive with HIV but not demonstrating symptoms of contagious infection or having open wounds, are accepted at CCCA. Being in a regular school program, however, brings a child with AIDS into contact with many viruses and illnesses that are common to children as they grow up. Most children would be able to resist the illness and resume their every-day activities. However, for a child with AIDS, contracting some of these common illnesses could prove fatal.

The school is sensitive to the needs of AIDS sufferers. We desire to assist wherever possible in accommodating the educational needs of these students within the framework, philosophy, and facilities of the school.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
Students transferring from another school will be expected to take an entrance examination to determine appropriate grade level placement. The student should bring a copy of his latest report card, latest achievement test, and most recent transcript of grades at the time of testing.

ENROLLMENTS
On the first school day of April registration will be open to the public. Re-enrollment discounts are available to all returning students through April 15. After that date, all registrations are considered new student registrations and all subsequent fees apply.

WITHDRAWALS
Voluntary withdrawal is not a basis for refund of tuition unless one full, semester's notice has been properly given in writing in the school\'s office. In any case, the refund shall not exceed one-half (1/2) of the semester's fee applicable. Students withdrawing from school must follow these procedures:

A. Parental Withdrawal Consent Form must be requested and completed by the parent or guardian, signed and returned to the school office to be dated prior to withdrawal.

B. All tuition and charges will continue until withdrawal procedures are completed. A student withdrawing from school with proper permission, should go to the office the last day of attendance and receive a checkout list to be signed by his teacher(s) and by the administrator or his assistant indicating that all textbooks and school materials assigned to him have been returned in acceptable condition. Neither grades nor transcript will be issued until this procedure has been followed.

TRANSPORTATION
Pennsylvania law requires the district in which the student resides to provide transportation for private or parochial schools upon parental request. The procedure is to contact the District Superintendent and/or the Transportation Supervisor of your district, giving accurate location, number of students, time school begins, and time school is out. The transportation is provided by law to your child, not to the school. Therefore, you must take the initiative in securing that service. We will assist the various school districts in every way we can to assure their buses remain on time and that our students are secure.

SCHOOL ACCOUNTS
In order to reach the widest possible economic spectrum of the Christian community, the school has established a minimal annual tuition not totally representative of the cost of providing an education for your child. Every family benefits from the generosity and compassion expressed by the donations and gifts of the school's friends and families. We solicit your offerings and gifts as well and ask for your full cooperation in maintaining a current school account. Should you experience difficulty in your account, you are expected to contact the school office and make the necessary arrangements to bring your account current.

TUITION PLANS
All tuition charges are annual charges, payable by œbudget plans as long as the student account remains in good standing. All tuition payments are due the first of each month. A ten day œgrace period is given before a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. After the last day of the month if the tuition has not been paid a 1.5% interest rate will be charged on all unpaid balances.

Annual
Annual payment is made in one lump sum in August.

10/12 Month Accounts
10 Month Accounts: The tuition is divided into 10 equal monthly payments payable August through May.
12 Month Accounts: Tuition installments are payable monthly beginning in July through June. For students transferring into the program after the school year has begun, will have the tuition amortized equally over the remaining months and the first tuition payment is due the first day of the child\'s attendance.

PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS
All tuition is due in advance. Service Fees and Late Charges will be added to all delinquent accounts. Payments received more than ten (10) days after the due date are late and will be subject to a Service Charge of $25.00. Following the tenth (10th) day of delinquency, a 1.5% Late Fee will be applied to the outstanding balance. Payment of accounts may be made by cash, personal check, or certified check. A charge of $20.00 will be assessed for all returned checks. Accounts may be paid by mail; however, you are responsible to mail payments in plenty of time to meet the account due date. Make checks payable to: Centre County Christian Academy, 100 Hertzler Drive, Bellefonte, PA 16823.

All financial transactions should be made in the offices of Centre County Christian Academy and receipted for proper credit.

MULTIPLE ENROLLEE DISCOUNTS
All registration and tuition discounts are given as privileges and not as rights. Failure to maintain your financial account may result in forfeiture of all discounts and or withdrawal from the school program.

Re-enrollment and tuition discounts apply only to those children who are members of your immediate family. (See tuition chart).

MISCELLANEOUS FEES
Centre County Christian Academy receives no state or federal funds for its operation. The operation of the school depends solely on the tuition and gifts offered by friends and families of the school. Tuition and fees cover approximately 75% of the school's operational budget with the balance received through charitable contributions. In light of this, every student activity and non-inclusive requirement must be funded through various fees assessed on those directly involved. For this reason, a comprehensive activity fee has not been composed.
