Financial Aid Information
The objective of the School\'s financial aid program is to be able to provide assistance to a student who has been accepted, and who, without such aid, would be unable to attend Dexter. Emphasis is placed on financial need, and grants-in-aid are awarded without regard to race, color, creed, or national origin. It should be noted that preference is given to currently enrolled students.
Since grants-in-aid are funded solely by tuition revenue, there is a limit to the amount of total aid the School may grant, and while it would like to assist each family to the full extent of its calculated need or request, at times this simply is not possible. Accordingly, every parent is expected to assume some portion of the cost of their child's/children's education. As a result, financial aid is based upon School charges: tuition and transportation, books and supplies, and lunch. Parents should plan to provide for more discretionary expenses relating to athletic supplies, photographs, and book fair charges.
Financial Aid Application Procedure
Parents must submit a new financial aid application each year that assistance is requested, and only one application per family is necessary. So that equal consideration is given to each financial aid request, the School is guided by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in calculating financial need. To apply for financial aid, you must contact the Business Office for a financial aid application package. The Parents' Financial Statement is due to SSS by January 15th. In addition to the PFS, a completed financial aid application consists of the following:
A legible photocopy of the Business/Farm Statement, if applicable
A legible photocopy of the past 2 years Federal Income Tax Returns with ALL supporting schedules
A completed Form 4506T (Request for Transcript of Tax Form)
