Every attempt is made to limit extra fees throughout the school year. However, there may be some events that incur additional costs or fees.

Out-of-Parish
Students from parishes who are not members of the Kuemper Catholic School System Corporation are charged 130% of the tuition for that grade. Students from St. Mary's, Auburn; St. Mary's, Sac City; and St. Joseph's, Wall Lake pay the regular tuition. The parish is assessed an additional 30% per student.

Transfers
Tuition and fees are pro-rated for students who transfer into Kuemper Catholic School during the school year. If a student must leave Kuemper Catholic School due to a family job transfer, unused pro-rated tuition will be refunded. For any other reason, tuition will be required for the full current semester.

Tuition Grants
Twelve Catholic parishes in the Carroll area, and also many individual donors including the faculty, make generous contributions to Kuemper Catholic School System in order to keep tuition as low as possible. Tuition is still necessary to pay a reasonable portion of the per pupil costs.

In some cases, paying tuition can be a challenge to a family budget. We are confident that the KCSS Tuition Grant Program can make your tuition investment workable. KCSS will do everything possible to enable parents to choose Kuemper Catholic schools for their children. There are three major categories that provide funds for tuition grants: (1) The Monsignor Lafferty Tuition Foundation provides tuition grant funds through the Diocese of Sioux City, (2) The Birzle Scholarship Fund, administered through the Diocese of Sioux City provides grant funds to eligible high school students, and (3) Designated monies from the Kuemper Ball, Phon-a-thon, past capital campaigns, the Kuemper Foundation, parishes, and the Fr. Kuemper Society Fund make up our local Fr. Kuemper Tuition Grant budget.

The process of applying for a grant is not difficult and is fully confidential. Families must complete a MLTF grant application and submit it with tax (IRS) documentation and the $21 processing fee to PSAS (Private School Aid Service). PSAS will process your application and send a coded summary report to the Diocese of Sioux City. This coded information is used to determine a possible grant for your family.
