Tuition
Tuition for one student in the secondary schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is $5,850.00 for the 2012/2013 fiscal year. Besides tuition, there are various fees. The difference between the tuition and fees which are charged and the actual cost of operating the school is made up from fund-raising activities.
Tuition Assistance
Bonner & Prendergast annually awards tuition assistance. Scholarships and Financial Aid is divided into three categories at Bonner and Prendergast: Academic Scholarships, Financial Aid and Other Scholarships and Grants. This aid is directed to tuition only and does not cover fees and other expenses. While part of this amount is awarded as four year academic scholarships to outstanding performers on the scholarship exam, by far the larger part of tuition assistance goes to students as need based grants.
Academic Scholarships
Renewable four year academic scholarships are awarded to applicants who have scored the highest on the Scholarship Exam. Students will have two opportunities to take the Scholarship Exam. Students may take the exam on either Saturday, October 13, 2012 or Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 8am.
Financial Aid
To apply for Financial Aid for the 2013-2014 school year you must fill out the BLOCS common application. This application covers all aid opportunities from the Archdiocese, the State and the school. Financial Aid is based solely on demonstrated need. Any family who feels unable to afford the full cost of tuition is encouraged to apply for financial aid. Financial Aid is distributed on a yearly basis.
As an Archdiocese we have switched to one common application. This single application will be reviewed by Private School Aid Serviceto determine your eligibility for funding from the various programs administered by Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools, Office of Catholic Education (OCE), Faith in the Future Foundation (FIFF), and some of the Archdiocese Schools. This application also includes the Pennsylvania tax credits, Opportunity School Tax Credit (OSTC) and Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The Bonner & Prendergast School Code is 33001.
