Accreditation
St. Francis is fully accredited by the Diocese of Lafayette and the Louisiana State Department of Education.
Admissions Policy
St. Francis School welcomes all students regardless of race, religious beliefs, sex or national origin. The school makes a sincere effort to live up to its philosophy of educating the whole child in a faith-filled environment.
Cell Phone Policy
1. Students are not allowed to have cell phones on their person at school under any circumstances.
2. Students 5th grade and above may bring cell phones to school, but they must be turned into the office immediately upon arriving at school.
3. Students must be involved in an after school activity in order to bring cell phones to school.
4. Any student who is not involved in an after school activity, must have a written note from the parent as to why their child must have a cell phone at school and it must be approved by the principal.
5. Any student who brings a cell phone to school and is not involved in an after school activity or does not have a written note from their parent will not be allowed to bring their cell phone to school for a period of one week.
6. If a student continuously violates the cell phone policy he/she will no longer be allowed to bring a cell phone to school.
7. Any student caught with a cell phone on them will be disciplined by the principal. (in school suspension, out of school suspension, etc.)
Major Field Trip Policy
1. All parents/chaperones who wish to travel with the group, must put down a deposit of $100.00.
2. Deposits by parents are non-refundable after two weeks of the initial deposit, with the exception of sickness or death in the family.
3. Tuition and fee payments must be current in order for your child to participate in the major field trip.
4. If a child's tuition and fees are delinquent and you participate in fundraisers for the trip, any money turned in for your child will be put on hold until your account is up to date.
5. Tuition and fee payments must be current within two weeks of the trip. If not, the money raised for your child will be credited to the rest of the students or held in the account for future use of the class.
6. Your child's field trip must be paid in full prior to leaving on the trip.
7. All parents/chaperones fees must be paid in full prior to leaving on the trip.
8. If your child has an in-school suspension they may not be able to participate in the field trip, depending on how many suspensions they have. (refer to assertive discipline section in handbook)
9. If your child has an out of school suspension, within the time frame of the trip, they will not be able to participate in the field trip.
St. Francis Parental Involvement Program:
In an effort to increase family involvement and participation in our St. Francis School, each family is required to contribute a minimum of four (4) hours of work throughout the academic school year, which is equivalent to $50.00 per hour for a total of $ 200.00 . The four hours of work can be earned/worked off at the various fundraisers
