Mesilla Valley Christian Schools is a non-profit corporation registered in New Mexico as a religious educational institution. It is the goal of
the Board of Trustees for tuition and fees to cover the costs of the annual operating budget. However, most capital building and
equipment projects, scholarships, and other special projects are funded through tax deductible donations.
2012-2013 Tuition Fees
Kindergarten -5th grade: $4,946.00
Grades 6-8: $5,050.00
Grades 9-12: $5,273.00
Part-Time Students (6th - 12th grades only) Tuition is pro-rated based upon the number of classes enrolled.
Multiple Student Discount on Tuition:
2 students enrolled per family - 4% discount on 2nd tuition
3 students enrolled per family - 25% discount on 3rd tuition
4 students enrolled per family - 50% discount on 4th tuition
5+ students enrolled per family - No tuition fee for 5th child
Payment Options - All tuition payments must be made through FACTS.
One Payment (full year in advance): 5% discount on annual tuition if received by July 1, 2012.
Two Payments (semester in advance): 2% discount on 1st semester if received by July 1, 2012.
2% discount on 2nd semester if received by January 1, 2013.
Monthly : 10 monthly payments from July - May (excluding March due to payment of annual registration fee.) A processing fee of $6.00 per month per family is added to each monthly payment.
Fees - Application/Re-enrollment Fees must be made payable to MVCS. All other fees may be paid through FACTS.
Application/Registration Fee (new students):
Kindergarten: $75.00 (regardless of registration date)
Grades: 1-12 $150.00 (regardless of registration date)
A portion of the Application/Registration Fee will be retained to cover testing even if the student is not subsequently enrolled.
Re-enrollment Fee (returning students):
Grades 1 - 12: $150-$250 depending on time of payment
Part-time Students: $100 - $150 depending on time of payment
New Student Fee: $200 per student for new students entering 1-12th grade.
The new student fee is non-refundable and may be paid with the tuition payment. It is in addition to the Application Fee. A maximum of two New Student Fees will be charged per family. Students transferring from College Heights Kindergarten are exempt from
the New Student Fee.
Activity Fee: $65 per student per year (not for new students due to the fact that it is included in the New Student Fee)
Miscellaneous Fees: Additional fees or purchase of supplies may be required for some
course offerings. Athletic teams, clubs, and other activities may be non-refundable with the following exceptions
International Student Fee: $100.00 annual, non-refundable fee per student in grades K - 12th. This is in addition to the Registration Fee, New Student Fee, and Tuition Fee. It may be included in the tuition payment. This fee is subject to change and is used to cover the fees charged by the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Returned Check Fee: $20.00 will be charged for any check returned for any reason.
Late Fee: $25.00 will be charged per family per month for all payments made after the agreed upon FACTS payment date. This is in addition to any late fees that may be charged by FACTS.
Financial Aid
A limited amount of Financial Aid (based on family need) is available to MVCS families of full-time MVCS students. Financial aid is not available to part-time students. Applications are processed by FACTS and are available through the MVCS website or at www.factstuitionaid.com. Applications must be submitted by April 17, 2012 in order to be processed and approved prior to the first tuition payment date. All applicants must be enrolled prior to May 11, 2012 in order to be considered for financial aid. Late applications may be considered if any funds remain available. Applicants will be notified by approximately June 1st. Please visit the MVCS website at www.sonblazer.net/mvcs for information regarding other possible sources of financial aid.
Tuition Proration
A full month's tuition is owed for every month or partial month the student is enrolled in MVCS, based on a ten month school year (August-May.) Example: If a student enrolls in October, 80% of the year's tuition is owed. If a student withdraws in December, 50% of the total tuition is owed.
Re-Enrollment/Application Fee
Re-enrollment/Application Fees are non-refundable with the following exceptions.
1. If a student is not accepted by MVCS, a $50.00 Testing/Processing Fee will be retained.
2. If a student is not accepted because space is not available, the entire fee is refundable.
3. If a family moves out of town, or loses the primary source of income prior to the first day of the school year, all but the $50.00 Testing/Processing Fee will be retained.
Delinquent Accounts
1. Tuition is late if not received by the agreed upon FACTS payment date. Late fees will apply.
2. Tuition is considered delinquent if it is 30 days past due.
3. If tuition is 60 days late, students are subject to disenrollment. Written payment arrangements may be made with the school superintendent. It is the parents' responsibility to contact the superintendent to set up an appointment to arrange alternate payment arrangements. If the alternate payment agreement is not
met, disenrollment will be automatic.
4. Report cards, access to on-line grading programs, and school records/transcripts will be held until all financial obligations (including day care, library and book fines, lunch IOU's, tuition, etc.) are met.
5. Students may be re-enrolled after all financial obligations are met.
6. Accounts may be submitted to a collection agency for collection which may include legal action.
