Full Merit Scholarships For All Accepted US Students
All US citizens and permanent residents apply to UWCs through the Davis Scholar competition. Accepted students are awarded full merit scholarships covering tuition, room, and board to attend one of the UWCs for the full two-year program.

Approximately 50 US students are offered admission to UWCs each year. Of those, approximately 25 are offered places at UWC-USA, and the other 25 are offered places at one of the other 12 UWCs. Students are offered admission only to one UWC, and UWC assignments are based on applicants' preferences, which are listed on the online application.

Non-Tuition Expenses and Financial Aid for US Students
Discretionary expenditures such as pocket money, health insurance, and travel are not included and will need to be budgeted by families. Approximate expenses at most UWCs include:

Personal expenses (school supplies, toiletries, snacks, etc.): $500 per year.
Graphing calculator: $100.
Room and books damage deposit: $200 (paid once for two years and includes use of a shared post office box for two years)
Project Week expenses (March each year): $50 to $350 per year.
Winter Break expenses: $50 to $300 or more depending on travel plans.
Basic Sickness and Injury Insurance: approximately $400 per year.
One of the requirements for IB Music is that students take a weekly private instrumental lesson. UWC-USA provides a wide range of exceptional teachers from the community. The cost of these lessons is $50 per hour. If these lessons will create a financial hardship, we may be able to defray the cost.

Admitted Davis Scholars whose families are unable to cover these additional expenses should request a Parent Financial Statement form from the Admission Office. More information about need-based assistance is included in the materials sent to accepted students.
