Admissions
All admissions to St. Bernard School are handled through the principal\'s office. New student admissions for grades one through eight are accomplished through a conference between the parent(s) or guardian(s) and the principal. All records from the previous school is required. New student admissions for kindergarten begin with a round-up day each year in March.
St. Bernard School complies with Nebraska State age requirements for students in kindergarten and grade one.
Kindergarten Age Requirements: According to state regulations, children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before July 31. Parents/Guardians are required to produce a birth certificate, hospital records or other verification of birth date. .
A child who turns 5 between July 31 and October 15 can be tested through Omaha Public Schools for Kindergarten readiness. St. Bernard School will comply with the dates established by the Department of Education. St. Bernard School will accept the results from the readiness test administered through Omaha Public Schools.
First Grade Age Requirements: All children entering the first grade must be 6 years of age on or before July 31, and must have successfully completed an approved kindergarten.
St. Bernard School will not enroll more than 25 students in any grade, other than Pre-Kindergarten.
St. Bernard School admits new students according to the following guidelines:
1. Catholic
2. Supportive (active) parish member
3. Past record of school attendance at St Bernard
4. Non-parish member
Admission will be decided on an individual basis according to the criteria recommended above, openings at the grade level needed, services offered to help the student, and personal interview with the principal or designee.
Tuition and Costs
$250 Registration fee for each child
For a family to claim \"in-parish\" tuition, they must be registered members of St. Bernard Parish. Families who are receiving in parish tuition are expected to actively support St. Bernard parish. This includes giving $15 per child per week.

Tuition is collected by SMART tuition. St. Bernard offers a 3% discount for all who pay their total prior to the start of the school year.
St. Bernard offers a $500 credit to families that refer new families. $500 credit is provided when the new family enrolls at the school

Admission of Students with 1-20 Status "Before a foreign student may be admitted to St. Bernard Catholic School, the Superintendent must be contacted. Foreign students may be admitted in accordance with the existing requirements and regulations of the United States Department of Justice. If the student\'s family is in the United States with refugee status, parents must submit a copy of their documentation from the U. S. Immigration Department. (Procedures for Admittance can be found in the Archdiocesan School Board Policies.)
