First Years Preschool and Kindergarten offers a high quality, preschool experience for children ages 18 months to four years old. Our chosen curriculum is the Core Knowledge Preschool Sequence. This sequence provides a comprehensive framework of skill and knowledge acquisition that covers all areas of a child's growth and development. Children receive instruction in the areas of Movement, Autonomy, Social Skills, Work Habits, Oral Language, Orientation in Time and Space, Scientific and Mathematical Reasoning, Emergent Literacy and basic Spiritual Foundations. Your child will have the opportunity to engage in individual, small group, and large group activities. He or she will participate in learning centers, music, snack, playground, lunch and monthly chapel visits. Parents are responsible for sending a lunch with their child each day.

All four-year-old classes will be part of Florida's Voluntary Pre-K program and will be provided free of charge (no registration/supply fees or tuition) for children age four by September 1, 2013.
Registration and supply fees are due at the time of registration and are non-refundable.
Tuition is divided into ten equal payments, collected the first of each month August 2013-May 2014, and is the same regardless of the number of days your child attends.
First Years offers a unique half-day Kindergarten program for children age five by September 1. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. The Core Knowledge curriculum serves as the foundation of our Kindergarten program and provides for instruction in all content areas. Kindergarten students participate in teacher directed activities and small group activities and rotate through designated learning centers, each requiring the child to complete specific tasks or activities. Learning centers include: Language Arts, Listening. Writing, Math, Science, Art, Motor Skills, and Blocks/Homeliving. Kindergarten students also participate in P.E., music, library, Spanish and weekly chapel visits.
Before school care is offered for siblings of kindergarten students enrolled in preschool. This service will provide preschoolers with supervision from 8:30-9:00 a.m. All kindergarten students will have the option of staying for lunch from 12:30-1:00 p.m. These conveniences allow parents with children in preschool and kindergarten to enjoy unified drop-off and pick-up times. There will be a small fee for these services and more information will be provided later.
Class Offering and Tuition
First Years Preschool and Kindergarten will offer one kindergarten class for the 2013-2014 school year. Children must be five by September 1 in order to participate. The class has a maximum capacity of 15 students. Kindergarten students will also receive the benefit of an instructional assistant dedicated to serving the kindergarten teacher and students. Children benefit from our high adult to child ratio with a classroom teacher that holds a Bachelor degree or higher in Elementary or Early Childhood Education. First Years is committed to providing a quality kindergarten program that allows each child the opportunity to receive the individual attention that he or she deserves.
Registration and supply fees are due at the time of registration and are non-refundable.
Tuition for Kindergarten is $2850.00 per year or $285.00 per month. Tuition is divided into ten equal payments, collected the 1st of each month August 2013 through May 2014 and is the same regardless of the number of days your child attends.
