Gompers Habilitation Center's State approved special education Private Day School serves students ages 5-22 in a dynamic, caring environment that promotes each student's education. With small class sizes, we are able to tailor our education program to meet the specific needs of the individuals that we serve. At Gompers, we believe that education is truly a team approach. We partner with parents, educators, school districts, therapists, and nurses to provide a unique experience for each student that allows them to experience growth and academic improvements.

Education Team:
Gompers' students are led by Arizona Department of Education certified teachers and principal. Our students are also supported by a licensed physical and occupational therapist, a speech pathologist, as well as qualified paraprofessionals who provide support at no more than a one staff-to-three students ratio. We staff a registered nurse, and a licensed nurse practitioner to support the medical needs of our students. Gompers is also able to provide transportation services.

Assistive Technology:
Gompers is proud to partner with outstanding agencies such as Northern Arizona University, the Arizona Technology Assistance Program, and Augmentative Communication vendors to introduce the most current technology into our classrooms. Students have access to computers and Smart Boards to assist with their learning, as well as other forms of technology to help develop communication skills.

Work Hard, Play Hard:
At Gompers, we work hard and add great value to the community, but we also have a lot of fun. Throughout the year, Gompers hosts several events, including dances, theme parties, our annual Spring Fling Carnival, and a Thanksgiving Lunch. Each month, one of our school, program rooms and vocational center hosts an assembly for all of Gompers, complete with entertainment and awards. If sports are of interest to you, we encourage clients to participate on our many Special Olympics teams.
